STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES

3-7 387
Abstract

The results of studying the effect of temperature on the dependence of shear rate on shear stress, effective viscosity on shear rate and effective viscosity on reciprocal temperature in Arrhenius coordinates for nanocomposites based on chemically modified low density polyethylene and clinoptilolite are presented. The object of study was the initial polyethylene functionalized with methacrylic acid filled with clinoptilolite, as well as hybrid gels based on modified polyethylene filled with appreted clinoptilolite. A temperature-invariant characteristic of the viscosity properties of hybrid gels is constructed, which allows predicting the temperature regime of their processing by injection molding and extrusion.

SYNTHESIS AND TECHNOLOGY OF POLYMERS

8-11 537
Abstract

Gel-forming (co)polymers of N-vinylsuccinimide, N-vinylsuccinamic and acrylic acids grafted on starch were obtained using an initiating redox system or as a result of 60Co gamma irradiation. The dependence of the level of sorption properties (co)of polymers relative to bioactive compounds (BAC), their water absorption and swelling on the conditions of the (co) polymerization process has been determined. The ability of composite copolymers to high moisture absorption, binding and prolonged release of BAC and the possibility of their use for biomedical purposes has been established.

RAW AND AUXILIARY MATERIALS

Abstract

The results of a study of the dependences of the physical-mechanical and tribotechnical properties of polyolefins on the content of fibrous fillers are presented. The optimal content of fibrous fillers is established. Optimum compositions of functional antifrictionwear-resistant composite materials have been developed that have sufficiently high physical, mechanical and tribotechnical properties.

Abstract

Mechanical properties of two samples of decking boards were measured after exposure in rain and chlorinated water, in ice, and in a mixture of gasoline and water in different concentrations from 1 to 7%. Samples consisting of 60% wood flour, 30% polyvinyl chloride and 10% additives were used for measurements. Additives are flame retardants, stabilizers, modifiers and dyes. The mineral filler CaCO3 was used as modifiers. For sample №1, the CaCO3 content was 42% and the wood content was 18%. For sample №2, the CaCO3 content was 24% and the wood content was 36%. As a result of measurements after exposure for 150 days, it was found that the specific impact strength increases by 120%, the bending strength decreases by 60%, and the Shore D hardness decreases by a maximum of 10%. Consequently, decking boards can be confidently used for a long time, since a number of properties almost do not change, but even increase, and some decrease in strength remains within acceptable values.

ANALYSIS AND CALCULATION METHODS

Abstract

The possibility of describing the wear of plastics, determined according to international standards ISO 9352, ISO 4649, GOST 11012, DIN 52108, EN 295-3, using a unified wear indicator, which is the loss of the volume of the wear material per unit of friction path, has been studied. It is shown that different methods give close values of the unified indicator of wear resistance.

APPLICATION

Abstract

Aspects of application of nitrogen-containing polyconjugated systems in electronics are considered. It is shown that the use of polyaniline and polypyrrole in the manufacture of structural elements of current sources and supercapacitors has significant prospects for increasing the efficiency of these devices. The fundamental possibility of using polyaniline in the creation of electrochromic displays and photovoltaic cells is shown.

Abstract

The choice of objects of research for reducing vibration of parts and increasing the durability of machine designs and, consequently, the noise level in industrial premises is stated and justified. Methods for obtaining vibration-absorbing polymer compositions and samples for their testing under vibration conditions are described, as well as methods for studying viscoelastic properties, chemical structure, adhesive strength, microhardness, impact strength of polymer coatings and thermal conductivity of the obtained samples from compositions based on homopolymers filled with organomineral ingredients. The results of studies of the vibration-absorbing and adhesive-strength properties of polymer composite materials based on epoxy polymers and an organomineral filler - rubber powder are presented.

Abstract

The results of an experimental study of the effect of surface deformation of polymeric materials, both as an individual operation and in combination with subsequent turning of workpieces, on some of operational characteristics of these materials are presented. It is experimentally proved that preliminary surface deformation does not reduce the performance of polymeric materials.

Abstract

A brief overview of the main methods, schemes and equipment for production of polymer packaging for food products is presented, their advantages and disadvantages are noted. The materials used in the production of packages for various purposes from single-layer to multi-layer and combined are described.

Abstract

The main properties and methods of producing LDPE are considered, the volumes of its production in the world and in theRussian Federationare given. The main characteristics of LDPE produced at PJSC Kazanorgsintez, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, as well as methods for their production are represented. The measures taken to improve the properties of the end product are described.

Abstract

In a brief review, the authors tried to present the main trends in the development of the plastics manufacturing, processing, consumption and recycling sectors. When considering various types of polymeric materials, the authors drew attention to the emergence of a new brand assortment, which, in turn, led to the expansion of the plastics application. From a large amount of information, the most striking examples were selected, confirming trends noted by the authors.

Abstract

Composite wood materials in the form of chipboards based on urea-formaldehyde resins (grades KF-MT-15, KF-NFP, etc.) are widely used in furniture production. However, one of the main shortcomings of chipboards is their toxicity associated with the release of a gas harmful to humans – formaldehyde. Its maximum permissible concentration in the air of a residential building should not exceed 0,01 mg per m3 of air. The paper shows one of the solutions to the problem of reducing the toxicity of chipboards
