STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES

Abstract

For the first time, calculations of compositions of dispersion-filled polymer composites with given structure parameters are presented, which take into account the construction of an infinite cluster, various types of lattices, the main parameters of lattices - coordination number (Z) and packing density (kуп) according to the De Gennes – Shklovsky model, as well as generalized parameters of structures (Θ), shape, size, maximum packaging (φm) and content of dispersed filler (φн).

The dependencies and tabular data on the relationship of lattice parameters (Z, kуп) with the generalized parameter Θ (the proportion of the polymer matrix for the formation of a continuous interlayer between dispersed particles) of the composite structure are given, which determine the content of the filler to create a dispersed structure with specified parameters and properties.

Abstract
It is established that with the selected type and composition of the amino-epoxy copolymer, which is equilibrium swollen in the anhydride-epoxy temporary plasticizer, the decisive role in ensuring the initial elasticity and final deformation heat resistance of such systems plays the formation of the initial polymer network of the primary polymer, which, when combined with a temporary modifier, provides of a minimum low Tg. The additional formation of the network structure of the primary polymer and the network interpenetrating with it, which is formed during the curing of the temporary plasticizer, provides the required Tg of the cured composition as a whole, proportional to the mass fraction of components and the density of the networks. The processes of macrophase separation during curing of a temporary plasticizer and, accordingly, the regulation of the phase morphology of the cured compositions are limited by the formed network of the initial polymer.

Abstract
The temperature dependences of tear strength for the main Borealis polyethylene grades were studied. It is shown that along with the common areas where the strength decreases with temperature, there are temperature, regions where the temperature dependence is weakly expressed or there is a maximum tear resistance associated with orientational hardening, similar to the maximum in materials of PE-RT II type.

SYNTHESIS AND TECHNOLOGY

Abstract
A method of obtaining of diesters and epoxy diesters of 3,6-endomethylene tetrahydrophthalic acid was studied. The conditions for the synthesis of diesters and epoxydiesters are found and their physic-chemical parameters are determined. A preliminary assessment of the possibility of using the synthesized epoxy diesters as plasticizers for cellulose esters was carried out. It was found that the new esters significantly increase the physicomechanical properties of etrols.

ANALYSIS AND CALCULATION METHODS

Abstract
The flow and heat transfer during impregnation of the filler with a non-Newtonian liquid in the process of forming composite products in closed forms is investigated. The flow is described by the Brinkman equation. In terms of rheology, medium is the Phan-Thien-Tanner fluid. The problem is solved by a numerical method of finite differences.

Abstract
The efficiency of the developed model for predicting the kinetics of the stabilizer extraction from rigid and plasticized polyvinyl chloride was assessed. The model shows high efficiency in the predicting the kinetics of the stabilizer extraction from rigid polyvinyl chloride. The extraction of the stabilizer from the plasticized polyvinyl chloride proceeds in two stages and the kinetic dependences do not obey the model equation.

RAW AND AUXILIARY MATERIALS

Abstract
A method for modifying PA-12 polyamide with solutions of coordination metal compounds synthesized at the Southern Federal University is proposed. The effect of these additives on the performance and structure of the material being developed is investigated. The optimal concentrations of additives were determined.

Abstract

The effect of additives of metal-containing nanofillers, including zinc oxide nanoparticles, on the properties of nanocomposites based upon isotactic polypropylene (PP), using X-ray phase analysis (XPA) and thermogravitometric (TGA) analysis was studied.

The improvement of the strength and rheological indexes, as well as the thermooxidative stability of the nanocomposites obtained was revealed.

Abstract
A brief review of the results of studies on reducing the combustibility of composite materials based on unsaturated polyester resins is presented. A flame retardant orthophthalic unsaturated resin based on a complex flame retardant was developed and studied. It is shown that the category for resistance to burning of the resin is achieved with 15–20% filling of the complex flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate, melamine and pentaerythritol. The kinetics of curing and physical and mechanical properties of the composite material are evaluated.

Abstract
Samples of thermoplastic elastomers based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) modified with ultrafine detonation-synthesed (nano) diamonds were obtained. It was found that small additives of nanodiamonds improve the strength characteristics and arrange the structure of PVC. A method that allows obtaining a uniform distribution of nanoparticles in a polymer matrix is proposed.

Abstract
The properties of compositions based on epoxy oligomer filled with hazelnut powders and walnuts are studied in the article. As a result of the conducted studies, it has been proved that with the addition of fillers, the toughness, density, and hardness of the composite gradually increase.

Abstract
The theoretical and experimental research results of the new method for polymeric materials turning are presented. A distinctive feature of the developed method is the preliminary deformation of the material by twisting the workpiece.. It is theoretically shown that the maximum stresses value during twisting is formed on the workpiece surface layer. It has been experimentally proved that the workpiece deformation by twisting leads to changes in the stress-strain state of the polymer chain. The workpiece predeformation by twisting allows to obtain a higher quality surface layer compared to traditional turning.

Abstract

It has been established that artificial leathers based on polyvinyl chloride belong to the group of polymer materials which need finding optimal welding methods and techniques in each specific case.

The technology of ultrasonic welding with simultaneous embossing of the surface of artificial leather has been developed, which provides welded joints with high strength characteristics and a good appearance of embossing of the skin surface.

The efflux velocity of oligomers based on carbamide-phenol formaldehyde resins plays a significant role in the manufacture of various types of glued materials, especially laminated beams for housing construction. The efflux velocity of carbamide-phenol formaldehyde oligomer was studied in the context of laminated timber technology.

Abstract
An adhesive based on EVA and LDPE is developed which can be used up to 60°C. It was modified by polyisocyanate fragments of a grafted and reticulate nature for structural and morphological changes of the polymer matrix and improvement of physical, mechanical and adhesive properties. For additional compatibilization of the components, LDPE modified with maleic anhydride (MA) was used. High adhesion properties of the obtained composites were confirmed.

Modern methods of control of functional and operational properties of packaging materials for foodstuffs are presented and their features are characterized. It is shown that quality control of polymer packaging materials for food products is key in determining the possibility of their intended use. The testing results enable assessing the possibilities, limitations and optimizing the process and get high-quality packaging.
