Aim and Scope
The main mission of the magazine is to keep the level of information on the achievements in the industry science and enterprises.
Plastics sector is a multi-facet industry which covers such important issues as polymers synthesis and processing, physical chemistry and mechanics of plastic-based composite materials. All this makes the editorial office unite a wide circle of specialists amongst authors, editorial staff and readers.
The latest years magazine’s activity shows that, despite the sharp decrease in the volume of scientific research, the spectrum of authors remains broad.
Closure of industry R&D institutes was compensated by extended participation of the specialists from higher education establishments and industrial enterprises. The major R&D development on composites and various aspects of plastics recycling are extensively covered in the magazine.
We plan to expand the coverage of industry economic analysis. In line with the representation of the Russian science, the magazine makes an effort in keeping an insight on the former Soviet Republics, in particular Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Belarus and Baltic countries.Section Policies

Peer-Review
An unilateral anonymous ("blind") peer review method is mandatory for processing of all scientific manuscripts submitted to the editorial stuff of "Plasticheskie massy" (authors don’t know the reviewers and receive a letter with comments from the responsible editorial secretary).
Members of the editorial board and leading specialists of the polymer science, invited as independent readers, perform peer reviews. Title editor chooses readers for peer review. We aim to limit the review process to one month.
Reviewer has an option to abnegate the assessment should any conflict of interests arise that may affect perception or interpretation of the manuscript.
The reviewer assesses the scientific content and quality of the design of the scientific work.
Upon the scrutiny, the reviewer presents one of the following recommendations:
- The article can be published without changes.
- Minor changes to the article are required. The article can be published in the journal after revision.
- Substantial revision of the article is required. The issue of publication should be reconsidered after processing the article and new peer review.
- It is not recommended to publish this article in the journal "Plasticheskie massy".
If the reviewer has recommended any refinements, the editorial staff would suggest the author either to implement the corrections, or to dispute them reasonably. Authors are kindly required to limit their revision to 2 months and resubmit the adapted article within this period for final evaluation.
In case the author fails to do so within 2 months since receiving a copy of the initial review, the editorial board takes the article off the register and notifies the author accordingly.
If it is recommended to publish this article, the editors inform the author and indicate the approximate publication dates.
An article that is not recommended for publication is not accepted again for publication. The message about the refusal to publish is sent to the author by e-mail.
Original reviews of submitted manuscripts remain deposited for 5 years.Indexation
